A little rant. If you are travelling out of the UK anytime soon try and avoid leaving through Standsted airport or, if you have to, make sure you pack a small re-sealable plastic bag.
Why? Because unlike every other airport I’ve ever been to in the world, Stanstead seem to think that it’s a good idea to charge passengers £1 to purchase a small plastic bag for passengers to place liquids in for security screening. Value of bag? Probably a penny. Very nice profit margin if you can get away with it.
Why can’t they provide free bags like every other airport or allow you to place any items directly in a tray (like I’ve been allowed to do before)?
