Glad to know that Brainmail is coming back soon. I like the cool mix of all those, but I would be always amazed with statistics. It makes me think about other perspectives with the information provided and it gives hints of what is going on with our changeable society.

Hi,
I think the most impressive here - it's moving components. iphone, ipad do not have this. the only thing that moves in the laptop is the keyboard. And only in one direction. The work of the typewriter is simple and clear. iPad work - a "black magic". You can imagine how to fix a typewriter (it means to be "smarter" than it is). But it is difficult to even imagine how to fix ipad.
So I think - it is a question of our power over things.

I've been eagerly waiting for your brainmail emails but luckily can get a good dose of thoughts from here and your books!

To answer your questions about brainmail I love the mixture of the new trends & thinking bit, the short statistics, the book recommendations, the quotes, etc.. It's a perfectly balanced..If there really has to be one picked thou it would be the new trends, technology and thinking...

Maybe an interesting thing to do would be to segment the list by those things that still haven't happened, things that exist but are not in mainstream use (e.g.flying cars!) and things that are now commonplace?

I believe that the major drastic change that will be kindling in the minds of youth everywhere is classic "let's go out and play" concept that so many of today's youth so desperately needs. If youth can make it out of their homes and find their way down streets and spend their parents or their earned cash on shops and venues etc, I hold out hope that we will see a fully real life scenario of youth doing more than any other generation before them.

With the proper use of hand held technology, carpooling, and planning, youth could do possibly anything from road trips in the middle of the school year, to starting their own interactive small time businesses. All it would really take is less time spent on profile sites like facebook, and more time discussing morals and ethics and learning new trades. If only the youth had the right role models. Let's thank our poor American public education for that.

Imagine the possibilities youth of tomorrow could come away with, what with such easy access to information and independence, if they only had the right initial push.
