I’d Like An Old One Please

Well what do you know? There I was reading Octane magazine (issue 75, September ’09) and on page 160 there’s a story about preserved cars (as opposed to restored cars) being a wave of the future. The article goes on to say that there are rumours of an underground industry that uses tricks of the trade to age leather, chrome, paint and so on. What’s my point? Well, in the original edition of my book, Future Files, (Sept ’07) I wrote this…

“Patina will be big in the future. Women with facial lines will be highly desirable, while new hydrogen powered cars will be available with used-looking paintwork and worn leather seats as optional extras.”
